The World Health Organization (WHO) is an agency of the United Nations (UN) for health. Its headquarter is situated in Geneva, Switzerland.
It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
The WHO’s objective is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health., health is defined as an “state of physical, mental and social well-being and does not consist only in the absence of disease or infirmity”.
