Cotecna India recently extended a financial support to Rishi Valmiki Eco School, an English medium school which was conceptualized in 2010 under the umbrella of Dnyansadhana Education Society (DES).
Rishi Valmiki Eco School imparts academics in an ingenuous scholastic method and orchestrates eco experiences that will result in a natural development of knowledge.
They run a Marathi medium school based at Manori in Malad for the economically weaker children coming mostly from the fishermen community residing in the neighbouring area who have immensely benefitted from the school. At present a College too is operational from the same campus providing studies till HSC.
The money donated by Cotecna will be utilised to buy books and other study materials for the students second syllabus.
They have a well planned initiative and a designed syllabus to aid the students with challenges in learning. Children with such needs are scrupulously identified and put through a systematic academic instruction in order to upgrade them. Individual personal care is taken to assess them, taking into consideration each child’s unique ability to upgrade to higher level.
The effectiveness of this method of teaching was evident with the way the students were groomed.
The students had prepared a skit for our team and had their face painted as a leopard by their classmates. Being an eco school the students had participated in many nature walks that helped them have a good understanding of the environment and were extremely enthusiastic to share the information with us.
